Part One Analysis of the Teaching Material (一)Status and Function This is a very important lesson. It’ a good chance for the Ss to practice writing. Such a topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and it will be also helpful to improve their society sense. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. (二)Teaching aims and Demands 1.Knowledge objects (1). To master the new words and phrases. (2). To learn to select, organize and present information. 2.Ability objects (1). To improve Ss’ writing ability. (2) To be able to write an article about the best friend. 3. moral objects (1). To arouse the Ss’ interests in English. (2).To build up the Ss’ confidence. (3) To get the Ss to develop their good qualities and build friendship between them. (三) Teaching key and Difficult point 1. Key points (1). To master the new words and expressions. (2). To master the language points. 2. Difficult points: (1). To master the useful words and sentences. (2) To . write an article about the best friend. Part Two The Teaching Methods 1. Communicative teaching method2. Audio-visual teaching method3. Task-based” teaching method Part Three Studying Ways 1Teach the Ss how to be successful language learners. 2Let the Ss pass “Observation-Imitation-Practice”to study language. 3.Teach the Ss how to write an article about the best friend. Part Four Teaching Procedures I’ll finish the lesson in four steps. Step1.Lead in Show some pictures of people to Ss,ask them to describe the people to revise some words and phrases. Step2.Presentation 1.Present a list of words of describing different people in partA.Ask Ss to read loudly. 2.Ask Ss to write down the key words on the lines in PartB.In pairs,Ss read and correct their partner’s drafts. 3.Play the tape twice and ask Ss to answer some questions. 4.Get Ss to read the article in part C,and give them a general structure for them to organize their ideas. 5.Explain some useful words and sentences to Ss,ask them read and remember them. Step3.Practice 1.Use the article in part C as a model,let Ss write an article about their best friends. 3.Let some able Ss read out their articles to the whole class.
