She was born in the city of Tianjin in December 10th 1960. She is 184 centimeters high. She began to have volleyball training in the Volleyball Class of Beijing Workers Gymnasium Youth Sports School in 1973. Then she went to the Beijing Amateur Sport School in 1976, and was selected to the Beijing Volleyball Team at the same year.
