Ss can move around in the classroom and find out what their classmates want to be in the future. T can show Ss words about different professions using PPT P5-P6. Where will you live in 20 years Divide Ss into several groups, ask each S in the group to talk about what they want to / will live in 20 years and why. What pets will you keep Still work in groups, ask each S to tell their partners what pet(s) he / she want to / will keep. What free time activities will you do T shows Ss some words and expressions about free time activities using PPT P9. Make more predictions T can encourage Ss to make more predictions about themselves / their classmates / families in 20 years. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 3a In activity 3a, T may want to have Ss work in pairs to do the activity in the following way: One S in the pair should cover the passage and only look at the words in the box. The other S in the pair should cover the word box and only look at the passage. Have the pairs of Ss stand and try to complete the passage. After they have finished, the pair of Ss may be seated. Answers: live, more, meet, fewer, less, keep, wear, look, work, take 3b In activity 3b, T may want to elicit from Ss as a class some ideas using a mind map. Draw a circle and write the word “me” in the circle. Draw four more circles around the first circle. Write one of the words or phrases from the chart in each of the four circles: job, home, free time activities, neighbourhood. Elicit from Ss three predictions for each of the four circles, and write the predictions on the board. T may also want to elicit some details for each prediction. Have Ss fill in the chart in activity 3b in the book with predictions about themselves. Answers will vary. 3c Before writing, T may want to tell Ss how to organize a passage. E.g. what they can write in the topic sentence / supporting sentences / the concluding sentence. Tell Ss the writing standards, then show them the sample writing. Tip: T may want to encourage Ss to have highly successful expectations for themselves when they think about their futures and to have big goals because many people achieve what they set out to do in life. 4 Ask Ss to work in groups and discuss how they think a robot will help Ss with schoolwork in the future. T may want to have Ss first brainstorm a list of the needs / problems Ss face before they do activity 4. This will help Ss to have a better idea of how ... ...
