Go along Main Street until you pass Center Street. 1) until和till同义为“直到……” , till多用于口语。until可以放在句首, till则不能放在句首。 2) not ... until 意为“直到……才”, 表示直到某一时间, 某一行为才发生, 之前该行为并没有发生。 e.g. I did not study English until 9 o’clock last night. e.g. I did not go to bed until 12 o’clock last night. 直到妈妈生气了,汤姆才关闭电视。 Tom didn’t turn off the TV until his mother was angry. 2. I’m excited to try the rides! be excited to do sth. 对做...感到兴奋 She was excited to learn the news. 得知这个消息她很兴奋。 be excited about sth. / doing sth. 对...感到兴奋 Are you excited about your new job 你对新工作感到兴奋吗? You must be excited about leaving for America.你对动身去美国一定很兴奋。 excited和exciting的区别: excited意为“激动的; 兴奋的”, 作表语时, 主语通常是人; 作定语时, 常用来修饰人, 说明激动的表情。 e.g. All of us were excited when we heard the good news. The excited child opened his present quickly. exciting意为“激动人心的”, 作表语时, 主语通常是物; 作定语时, 常用来修饰物。 e.g. The movie is very exciting. My father told me an exciting story. 类似词语有: interested / interesting 感兴趣的/有趣的 moved / moving 感动的/令人感动的 surprised / surprising 感到惊奇的/使人惊奇的 pleased / pleasing 高兴的/令人高兴的 bored / boring 厌烦的/令人厌烦的 tired / tiring 厌倦的/令人厌倦的 amazed / amazing 惊奇的/令人惊奇的 frightened / frightening 受惊恐的/令人惊恐的 puzzled / puzzling 迷惑的/令人迷惑的 3. I mean … you know, a washroom or bathroom. mean 用作动词有以下含义: 1) “有……的意思, 指”(多作及物动词), 其后可跟名词或代词, 也可跟从句。 e.g. What does this word mean 2) “意味(着)”(及物动词), 常跟名词, 有时可跟动词-ing形式或从句。 e.g. Carl really could not do that — it would mean the end of his career. 3) “有……意图, 打算, 想”, 常跟名词、 代词或动词不定式。跟带不定式的 复合结构时, 还可用于被动语态。 e.g. I never meant to hurt you. 4. Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary 请你告诉我在哪能买到字典好吗? Could you please tell me where ... 是问路的 一种常用句型。此句型中could并不表示过去,而是表示委婉语气。 Could you please tell me where the library is 请你告诉我图书馆在哪好吗? (1)问路的其他常用句型有: ① Excuse me. Where is the. . . ? ② Excuse me. Which is the way to. . . ③ Excuse me. Is there. . . near here ④ How can I get to. . . ⑤ Could / Can you tell me the way to … ⑥ Could / Can you tell me which is the way to ... ? ⑦ Can you tell me how I can get to … ⑧ Could / Can you tell me how to get to …? ⑨ Do you know which is the way to … (2)指路的常用表达方式有: ①It’s over there. /It’s on … Street / Road. ② Walk along / up / down this road / street. ③ Take the … turning on the right / left. ④ Turn left / right at … ⑤ It’s next to / across from / in front of / behind / … 5.
