PEP6 Unit6 Work quietly. Part C Story time Teaching Plan Ⅰ. Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims (1). Help students be able to understand the story and review the language points in this unit. The gorilla is eating a banana.\ I am eating a banana. It is big and strong. It is so exciting. Talk quietly.\ Keep clean.\ Look at the sign. (2). Help students read the dialogue with right pronunciation and the tone to play a role of the dialogue. (3). Help students ask and answer “What’s she\he doing He\She’s…” 2. Skill aims (1). Help students be able to understand these words: gorilla, popcorn, sign, exciting, noise, film. (2). Help students be able to understand the meaning of the story in the help of teacher and some pictures. (3). Help students be able to act out the story and express their own thoughts by the language points. 3. Emotion attitude, learning strategy and culture intension aim (1). Help students be interested in strategy and joining in every activity. (2). Help students be able to get some meanings of the difficulties while they have an extensive reading with the help of guessing or discussing with partners. (3). Help students train the team cooperation consciousness. (4). Help students train the social morality consciousness and sense of responsibility. Ⅱ. Teaching contents. 1. Part C Story time 2. Vocabularies: gorilla, popcorn, sign, exciting, noise. 3. Sentences: The gorilla is eating a banana.\I am eating a banana. It is big and strong. It is so exciting. Talk quietly. Keep clean. Look at the sign Ⅲ. Analysis of the students. The students in grade5 have been leaning English for three years, they have some good skills for listening, reading and writing. This lesson is the last period of this unit, and the main content is present progressive. So it is easy for them to understand the sentence “The gorilla is eating a banana.” Most of the students can guess the meanings of “gorilla, popcorn, sign, exciting”, we must pay attention to the pronunciations. Some of them have their own thoughts, so as a teacher, During the teaching, I use different kinds of reasonable and effective teaching methods to encourage them to say, use and discuss.
