Research the recipe of a chosen dish through cooperation and exploration Use group work to write and present the recipe Make a video or take photos of how the dish is made and then make a presentation Evaluate and comment on each other’s work 1. Which dish do you like most from around the world? Fish and chips; pasta; sushi; pizza; chicken soup. 2. If you were a cook, what new dish would you like to create? Fruit pudding. 3. What dish would your group like to make? We want to make pork fillets with sweet and sour sauce. 4. Why do you choose this dish? Because all our group members are interested in making the pork fillets with sweet and sour sauce and like to eat the dish. Study the sample recipe. What should be included in a recipe? Ingredients; instructions or procedures; dos and don’ts Who cooks in your family? Do you lover her/his cooking? Can you make a dish on your own in your free time? If you can, what do you usually cook? Do you want to learn how to cook a new dish? As a class, discuss dishes from around the world or new dishes you would like to create. Then in groups, choose a dish to research. As a group, research the recipe for your chosen dish. Use the example below to help you. Main ingredients 500 grams of meat, Chinese cabbage, dumpling wrappers Instructions Mix together the meat and the Chinese cabbage. Fill the dumpling wrappers with the mixture. Stick the edges of the dumpling wrappers together. Boil the dumplings. Set the cooked dumplings on a plate and serve with vinegar.
