While-viewing BASE jumping BASE jumping is the recreational sport of jumping from fixed objects, using a parachute to descend (下降) safely to the ground. “BASE” is an acronym (首字母缩略词) that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna (天线塔), span (大桥) and earth (cliff (悬崖)). Participants exit from a fixed object such as a cliff, and after an optional freefall delay, deploy (展开) a parachute to slow their descent and land. Post-viewing Pair work: Role-play the dialogue.
