Module 5 Shopping Unit 1 what can I do for you Objectives: Students will be able to use vocabulary related to shopping and customer service. Students will be able to use polite expressions when shopping. Students will be able to ask for and give information about products. Students will be able to make suggestions and recommendations. Materials: Textbook: Unit 1 of Module 5 in《外研版英语七年级下册》 Whiteboard and markers Flashcards with vocabulary related to shopping Pictures of different stores and products Role play cards Procedure: Warm-up: Start the lesson by asking the students about their shopping experiences. You can ask them questions like: Do you like shopping Where do you usually shop What do you like to buy when you go shopping Presentation: Introduce the vocabulary related to shopping and customer service using flashcards or pictures. Teach them common expressions used in stores, such as "Can I help you ", "How much does it cost ", "Do you have it in a different color/size ", and "Thank you for your help". Write the vocabulary and expressions on the whiteboard. Practice : Divide the class into pairs and give each pair a role play card. Each card should have a scenario where one student is a customer and the other is a store employee. Have them practice the dialogues using the vocabulary and expressions they just learned. After a few minutes, have them switch roles and try a different scenario. Production: Give the students a picture of a store and some products. Have them work in pairs or small groups and ask and answer questions about the products, such as "How much does it cost ", "What is it made of ", and "Do you have it in a different color/size ". Encourage them to make suggestions and recommendations to each other. Review: Review the vocabulary and expressions with the class and give them a homework assignment to practice using the vocabulary and expressions in a real-life shopping situation, such as buying groceries or clothes with their parents or friends. Assessment: Assess the students' ability to use the vocabulary and expressions correctly in the role play activity and the production activity. Additional activities: Play a shopping board game where students have to use the vocabulary and expressions to buy and sell products. Have students create their own store and products using paper and markers, then practice asking and answering questions about the products with a partner. Do a vocabulary matching activity where students match the word to the picture or definition, then use the words in sentences or role plays.
