人教版英语七年级下册 Unit 2 What time do you go to school Section B(1a-3b) Recycled language Numbers 1-30 Additional materials to bring to class: Teaching clock with moveable hands 1a This activity introduces the words for the parts of the day and reviews some daily activities. Call attention to the four pictures of things people do every day. Ask students to read the name of each activity. Point out the three pictures illustrating parts of the day: morning, afternoon, and evening. Ask students to say the parts of the day. Say, Now let’s match each time of day ( point to the three times of day) with each of the activities (point to the four activities). Write the number of each activity after one of the times of day. Point out the sample answer. Ask students to finish the activity individually. Check the answers. Answers In the morning: 3 In the evening: 2,4 In the afternoon: 1 (Other answers are possible.) 1b This activity provides guided oral practice with the target language. Point out the conversation in the picture. Ask two students to read it aloud. Say, Look at the activities listed in 1a. Ask a partner questions about when people do these things. Use questions and answers like the ones in the picture. As student work, move around the room and check progress. Be sure students are giving appropriate answers and offer to help with pronunciation as needed. After thy have practiced for several minutes, ask the pairs of students to work with another pair of students to check each other’s work. Ask four sets of students to ask and answer one question each for the class. 2a This activity gives students practice in recognizing the target language in spoken conversation. Point to the picture of Rick being interviewed. Ask students what is happening in the picture. Call attention to the ten words and phrases next to the picture. Ask a student to read them to the class. Tell students that some, not all, of the ten activities on the list are mentioned on the tape. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen. Play the recording a second time. This time ask students to circle the activities they hear mentioned on the tape. Point out the sample answer. Correct the answers.
