Step Ⅰ　Warm-up Show some pictures and ask the students to ask and answer in pairs. A:How s the weather B:It s sunny. A:What s the boy doing B:He s playing the guitar. Step Ⅱ　Presentation 1.Lead-in. Ask the student who is on duty to give a report about the different weather in different cities. T:Did you watch the weather report last night What s the weather like in Beijing today S1:Good morning,everyone.I m the reporter for today s weather report.My name is...Today,the weather in Beijing is... Then ask the student who is on duty:What are you doing S1:I m giving the daily report. Let some pairs of students talk about what his/her classmates are doing. T:This time,please observe your classmates what they are doing.Ask and answer in pairs. 2.Grammar Focus. Lead students to read the sentences in the box and explain their meanings. Then conclude the use of present progressive tense together. They may make sentences using present progressive tense in pairs,take the ones in the box as a model. Later invite some students to read their sentences. Step Ⅲ　Practice 1.Teach Activity 3a. First,lead students to read through the instruction so that they can know how to do this activity. Then give students several minutes for them to complete the sentences with the correct forms of the words in the box. As they work,move around the room offering language support as needed. Finally invite five pairs to act out for the whole class to check the answers. 2.Work on 3b. Lead students to finish the chart. Interview the other students in your group and ask several groups to act out their conversation. Write a short passage about the interview and report it to the whole class.
