Unit 3 Look at the elephant! 一、教学目标 After this period the students are able to: 1.Learn the phrases, sentence structures for animals. 2.Describe the physical appearance of some animals. 3.Complete the prepared task in real life. 二、学情分析 四年级的学生已经学习了一年的英语了,他们已经能很好地听懂老师的英语课堂指令,能积极参与课堂活动,善于表达自己,对英语学习有强烈的兴趣。 本单元B部分的五种动物,孩子们在三年级就已经学过,所以这节课的主要新知是五个描绘动物的形容词。但在这五个描绘动物的形容词中big, small, beautiful这三个是学生在三年级接触过的,比较容易掌握,所以本节课的重点新授词汇是strong和 funny,包括这两个形容词的音、形、义以及用法。 四年级的孩子对动物感兴趣,本堂课将学生分为5组,讲清比赛规则,即:组员积极回答问题,组内、组间合作完成任务等都将获得一张动物图片作为奖励,最后看哪组获得的动物图片最多即为获胜组,以贴动物图片竞赛的方式调动学生的积极性。以动物图片作为评价的呈现方式,与主题相契合,孩子们也很感兴趣。 三、重点难点 教学重点:Complete the prepared task(finding the missing dog)in real life. 教学难点:How to cooperate with each other more effectively and efficiently. 四、教学过程 4.1 第一学时 4.1.1新设计 4.1.2教学活动 活动1【导入】step　1　warming　up 1. Greet. 2. Divide students into groups. 【设计意图】 将学生分为5组,讲清比赛规则,即:组员积极回答问题,组内、组间合作完成任务等都将获得一张动物图片作为奖励,最后看哪组获得的动物图片最多即为获胜组,以贴动物图片竞赛的方式调动学生的积极性。以动物图片作为评价的呈现方式,与主题相契合。 3. Sing a song “Old Macdonald” 【设计意图】关于动物的歌曲,与主题相契合也很好地引出了下一个环节。 活动2【讲授】step　2　　Presentation　and　drills 1.Group work 1 (组内合作) Say the names of the animals in groups(和组内同学一起说出这些动物) 【设计意图】B部分的五个动物的单词tiger, bird, elephant ,monkey, mouse在三年级就学过,这个环节让孩子们在组内合作复习动物的单词,在这个过程中体现了合作学习中的同伴互助。 2. Learn the phrases, sentence structures for animals. 【设计意图】重点学习strong和 funny两个词,逐步学习单词的音、形、义和单词的用法。 3. Group work 2(组内合作) 组内合作,用本单元的重点句子“Look at this…It’s…”谈论其他三种动物,并学习big, small, beautiful这三个形容词。 4.Group work 3(组内合作)和组内同学一起读一读这些词 活动3【活动】Step　3　　Practice 1.Group work 4: Describe the animals. ① Stick. Match the animal pictures and the phrases, then stick them in your zoo. ②Talk. Talk about the animals with your partners. Using “Look at…/It’s…” 【设计意图】 老师创设情境,带着学生来观赏动物。在观赏动物的过程中,在组长明确分工之下,孩子们通过把动物图片与短语配对,而后通过小组合作的方式谈论动物。通过做一做,说一说的方式对课文A、B部分的短语和句型进行了复习。 2.Group work 5: Find the dog. I want to have a dog. Please find the dog what I want. Now different groups have different information about the dogs. Please collect the information and find which is my dog. Let’s complete the task :finding the dog.
