Show them a picture of a popular cartoon character and ask the following questions: Do you recognize this character Can you tell me its name Have you ever watched this cartoon What do you like about it Introduction: Introduce the objective of the lesson: to improve listening and speaking skills through watching a cartoon. Explain that today, they will watch an episode from the cartoon "The Adventure of Tim and Lucy." Provide some background information about the cartoon characters, setting, and plot. Listening Activity : Play the cartoon video "The Adventure of Tim and Lucy" with English subtitles. Ask the students to focus on listening and understanding the events and dialogue in the cartoon. After watching, play the video again, stopping at certain points to check comprehension and ask comprehension questions. Group Discussion : Divide the class into small groups of 3-4 students each. Ask the groups to discuss the following questions: What did you think of the cartoon Who are the main characters, and what did they do in the story What was your favorite part of the cartoon Why Class Discussion: Invite one representative from each group to share their thoughts and answers. Encourage the rest of the class to actively listen and ask follow-up questions. Facilitate a class discussion by summarizing key points and encouraging participation from all students. Wrap-up: Recap the main events and characters of the cartoon. Ask students to write a brief reflection on the cartoon episode, sharing their likes, dislikes, and any lessons they learned. Collect the reflection papers, if desired, for assessment. Extension Activity (optional): Have students create their own cartoon characters and write a short story or dialogue involving them. Encourage students to present their creations to the class and participate in a mini "cartoon festival."
