Greeting 2. Leading-in 教师活动:让学生阅读P20文章,回答下列问题。 (1) Where did the writer go to see the paintings The writer saw the paintings in the National Gallery. (2) How did the writer appreciate the paintings The writer wondered at the skill of the artists, their use of colour and how they played with light and shade. He/she observed the brushwork the artists used to enhance their works, and enjoyed being able to bathe his/her senses in this palace of human creativity. (3) What was the writer's attitude towards the act of viewing artworks through smartphones The writer felt shocked and believed it was impossible to truly appreciate the human touch of a great painting through a smartphone. 学生活动:学生完成下面表格。 Verb-ing forms as predicatives It was surprising then… It might sound shocking, … Verb-ed forms as predicatives …, I was amazed to see all the paintings. … they seemed more interested in taking… …, I was determined to keep … 二、While-class 教师活动:总结动词-ing形式和-ed形式作表语的规则。 动词-ing形式作表语 1.动词-ing形式作表语有时相当于形容词,用于说明主语的特征或性质,意为“令人……的”。The result of the accident is shocking. 这一事故的后果令人震惊。 The argument is very convincing. 这一论据很有说服力。 2.动词-ing形式作表语有时相当于名词,用于说明主语的内容,两者可互换。 What I am tired of is waiting here alone. (= Waiting here alone is what I am tired of.) 我讨厌独自在这里等。 My job is teaching you English. (=Teaching you English is my job.) 我的工作是教你们英语。 动词-ed形式作表语 过去分词作表语,多表示主语所处的状态或所具备的特征,多位于系动词之后。这些系动词有be,remain,feel,seem,look,become等。 The door remained locked. 门仍然锁着。 I'm very interested in your story. 我对你的故事很感兴趣。 动词-ed形式与动词-ing形式作表语 英语中有很多与感觉有关的及物动词,其动词-ing形式表示主动意义,即“令人……的”,多用来修饰物;其动词-ed形式含有被动意义,即“人感到……的”,多用来指人、人的声音或表情等。常见的这类词有: exciting 令人激动的 excited 激动的,兴奋的 surprising 令人惊讶的 surprised 感到惊讶的 encouraging 令人鼓舞的 encouraged受到鼓舞的 frightening 使惊恐的 frightened 受惊的 interesting 令人感兴趣的 interested 感兴趣的 pleasing令人高兴的 pleased 满意的 moving 令人感动的 moved 受感动的 shocking 令人震惊的 shocked 感到震惊的 worrying 令人担心的 worried 感到担心的 tiring 令人劳累的 tired 感到劳累的 satisfying 令 ... ...
