Module: We love our homeland Unit: Special things, special people Task 6 Interviewing a special person Task description Pupils choose, find out and write about a special person. Then they role-play interviewing the special person that they researched. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task. Part A Pupils choose a special person. They gather information on and draw pictures of the person they have chosen. Using the information and pictures, they write about him/her on a piece of paper. Part B Pupils then get into pairs. They role-play and interview the special person they have researched. One pupil looks at their partner’s drawings and asks questions about the special person in the drawings. Their partner pretends to be that special person and answers the questions according to the information they found. Pupils then change roles and repeat the task. More able pupils could describe what they think about the special person. Find out about a special person. Draw pictures and write about him / her. Example This is the sportswoman who won the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Her name is Fu Yuanhui. This is the bronze medal that Fu Yuanhui won. It is made of metal. This is the coach who taught Fu Yuanhui to swim. His name is Zhu Zhigen. This is the swimming pool where Fu Yuanhui practised swimming. Get into pairs. Role-play interviewing the special person you found out about. Example : Hello, Miss Fu. Can you tell me about this medal : Yes, this is the bronze medal that I won at the 2016 Summer Olympics. : What’s it made of : It ... ...
