Book8Unit4 Feeling Excited(Story)教学设计 Analysis of teaching material: This is a story teaching lesson in book8 Unit4. The lesson focuses on talking about the feelings and the reasons of these feelings. Aiming at letting students grasp the structure “Why are you… I was… Because…”. The topic of this unit is closely related to students’ real life, and in accord with students’ cognitive level, thus can make students learn meaningfully and build students a confidence of English learning. Analysis of students: The objects of this lesson are students in Grade 6. Students in this grade has already learned some words on expressing the emotions, but most of them didn’t know how to say the reasons of their feelings, thus they will learn more words on expressing their emotions and some skills of expressing the reasons. However, some students lack of the ability of systematic autonomous language learning and some students have no confidence of English learning. Therefore, it requires teacher to set up the tasks from easy to the advanced to guide them. Teaching Aims: 1) Knowledge Objective: ①Master and use some important words: excited, scared, cave, because… ②Master the sentence structure: Why are you… I’m… Because… 2) Ability Objective: ①Students can understand and read the story properly. ②Students can retell the story according to the blackboard. ③Students can talk about their feelings and the reasons. ④Students can think actively while learning. 3)Emotion Objective: ①Learn to express own feelings and care for the emotions of others ②Be active and cooperative in team work, enjoy the sense of achievement in cooperation Teaching Difficulties: How to make the language richer and make the story more interesting.
