Unit3口语课教案 Voice Your Opinion on Sportsmanship I. Teaching Objectives At the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1. Define and explain what sportsmanship is. 2. Discuss different aspects of sportsmanship. 3. Give their personal opinion on sportsmanship and reasons for it. 4. Improve their English speaking skills through discussion and presentation. II. Key Points and Difficulties Key Points: 1. Defining sportsmanship. 2. Discussing its different aspects. 3. Giving personal opinions on sportsmanship. Difficulties: Engaging students in a discussion about sportsmanship in a foreign language may be challenging. III. Students' Academic Performance Analysis The students are generally enthusiastic learners who are eager to participate in class activities. However, some of them may struggle with expressing themselves in English due to language barriers. It is important to provide extra support and encouragement to these students. IV. Teaching Process 1. Warm-up (5 minutes) Begin the class by asking students about their favorite sport or player. This will help to establish a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, making it easier for them to speak in English. 2. Presentation (10 minutes) Use visual aids or PowerPoint slides to introduce the concept of sportsmanship. Explain that it means showing respect, fairness, and integrity both on and off the field/court/rink/etc. Show examples of different types of sportsmanship, such as congratulating opponents after a game, not cheating during a competition, and respecting referees' decisions. 3. Practice (15 minutes) Divide the class into small groups and give each group a list of different aspects of sportsmanship to discuss. Ask them to come up with their own examples and share them with the rest of the class. This will help to improve their listening and speaking skills, as well as their ability to express themselves in English. 4. Production (15 minutes) Assign each student a role in a short skit or dialogue where they have to express their opinion on sportsmanship using as much English as possible. This will give them an opportunity to practice their speaking skills in a creative and engaging way. Afterward, ask for feedback from the whole class and encourage them to use any new vocabulary or grammar structures they learned in their productions. V. Conclusion (5 minutes) Summarize the main points of the lesson and emphasize the importance of sportsmanship not only in sports but also in life. Remind students that practicing their English skills is essential for their future success, both academically and professionally. End the class with a positive note, thanking them for their participation and reminding them that learning a new language takes time and effort, but it is always worth it in the end.
