
冀教版六年级上册Lesson1 At the Airport 一、Background information English has been as a subject in primary school for some years in China. And the main instructional aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Our students are in Grade6, they are active and interested in new things, they like role-playing. After having learned English for three years, they have known some basic language knowledge. And the teacher should provide more chances of using English for them. 二、Teaching material analysis Lesson 1 At the Airport is from Unit 1, Book 7 in Grade 6. This unit will talk about “Li Ming Goes to Canada”. This lesson includes three parts: Li Ming arrives today! There’s Li Ming! Let’s do it! In part 1, the students can understand why Li Ming is coming to Canada and how long he will be here. In part 2, students have learned the numbers, so we can use these to learn “What time is it It’s _____.” 三、Teaching aims 1、Knowledge aims. Ss will be able to understand, use, recognize and spell these words: home, time, clock, and the construction: What time is it It’s _____. 2、Ability aim Ss can communicate with others using “What time is it It’s _____.” 3、Emotion aim Ss should understand the importance of time. 四、The important and difficult points The important points are the key words: home, time, clock, and the sentence pattern: What time is it It’s _____. The difficult points are that Ss can make a role play about meeting someone at the airport, and experience the importance of time in their lives. 五、Teaching methods The main instructive aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate the pupils’ basic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So I mainly use Communicative Teaching method: ask and answer, role-play. 六、Teaching aids PPT, audiotape, a clock, numbers 七、Teaching procedures Step 1 Class opening and review 1. Greeting: Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome back to school. Did you have a good holiday Where did you go 2. Say numbers One shows a number and another in his/her team reads it. If correctly, he/she will go back to his/her seat. (Purpose: Review the numbers they have learned before and attract their attention.) Step 2 Presentation Part 1 Li Ming arrives today! 1. Show the picture: airport T asks: Where is it Ss say “airport” after T. Show the title. (Write the title on the blackboard.) And then show a picture and say: Now Danny and Jenny are at the airport. Why do they there Now let’s learn part 1 to find the answer. 2. Listen to the audiotape and then ask the volunteers to read. Ss say “home” after T. (Write “home” on the blackboard.) (Purpose: Use the radio to help Ss read correctly.) 3. Fill in the blanks _____ is coming to Canada. He wants to _____ in Canada. He wants to learn _____. He will be here ____ months.
