Module2 Unit1 知识梳理 1.population的用法 （1）作为不可数名词，意为“人口，全体居民”。常与定冠词the连用，当其作主语时，谓语用单数形式。注意：修饰人口多或少时用large,big或small。 The population of Shanghai is large，but the population of my home town is small. 上海人口很多,而我家乡的人口很少。 （2）询问某地有多少人口的句型有： ①What’s the population of sp. 意为“某地有多少人口？” ②How large is the population of sp. 意为“某地有多少人口 ” 其答语常有： ①The population of sp. is/was + 数字，意为“某地有多少人口”。 ②Sp has a population of + 数字，意为“某地有多少人口”。 --What’s the population of your home town --你家乡有多少人口？ --The population of my hometown is more than 1 million. --我家乡人口有100多万。 注意： 当population与百分数、分数连用作主语表示部分人口时，谓语动词一般用复数形式。 More than 40% of the population of that city are from the countryside. 那个城市40%多的人口都来自于乡下。 2.than的用法 （1）作为介词，意为“比”，其前用形容词或者副词的比较级，后面引出比较的对象。注意：than后比较的对象要和主语同步，即具备可比性。 Tom is taller than me.汤姆个子比我高。 翻译：我妹妹的书包比我的书包大。 （正）My sister’s bag is bigger than mine. （mine指my bag，比较对象一致） （误）My sister’s bag is bigger than me. (me指作者本人,将书包和人进行比较，属于比较对象不一致) （2）作为连词，意为“比”，than后接句子。 Tom is taller than I am.汤姆个子比我高。 （3）注意： ①比较级的常见修饰语有a little【一点儿】, a lot【很多】, much【……得多】, far【……远远得多】, even【甚至】等，表示程度，它们起加强语气的作用。而副词very【非常】,quite【相当】，so【如此】等只能够用于修饰形容词或副词的原级，它们不可以用来修饰形容词或者副词的比较级。 The son is much taller than his father. 儿子个子比爸爸高得多。 ②than作为连词，后接代词的主格形式；作为介词，后接代词的宾格形式，主格形式更加正式，宾格形式更符合口语表达。但是两者有时也可以进行转换。 翻译：汤姆个子比我高。 Tom is taller than me. Tom is taller than I （am）.（本句中am也可以省略） ③than后接any other + 可数名词单数形式，表示最高级含义。 翻译：汤姆在我们班比任何其他学生跑得都快。 Tom runs faster than any other student in our class. = Tom runs fastest in our class. （4）辨析：than & as ... as than 作为介词或连词，意为“比”，其前用形容词或副词的比较级，其后接比较的对象。 The young woman looks younger than she is.那位年轻的女士比实际年龄看起来年轻。 as...as 意为“和……相同/一样”,是同级比较结构。第一个as 是副词，后接形容词或副词的原级，第二个as是介词或者连词，后接单词、短语或句子。其否定形式是not as/so ...as...,意为“不如……那么……”。 Lily speaks Chinese as well as Lucy does.莉莉汉语说得和露西一样好。 3.high的用法 (1) 作为形容词，意为“高的”，常用来修饰建筑物、山川等的高度，也可以指物品价格高。 ①--How high is the Jin Mao Tower 金茂大厦有多高？ --It’s 420.5 metres high.它有420.5米高。 ②The price of houses is higher and higher now. 现在房价越来越高了。 (2)作为副词，意为“高地”。如jump high,意为“跳得高”。 Tom can jump very high.汤姆跳得非常高。 (3)其副词highly,意为“（对某人或某物）非常赞许地；极为 ... ...
