Lesson 23 Which glasses 哪几只杯子？ [词汇]（2） ★on [ n] prep. 介词是英语中最活跃的词类之一，特别是一些常用介词，搭配力特别强，可用来表示各种不同的意思。大部分的习惯用语都是由介词和其他词构成的。介词不能在句中独立充当一个成分，而需和一个名词或与之相当的词构成介词短语，在句中充当一个成分。和介词构成短语的那个部分称为介词的宾语。介词on在不同的搭配情况下有不同的含义。 在…上 （表面有所接触的） eg. a book on the table 桌子上的书 靠近 eg. The village is on a river.(一册L:35 Our village 我们的村庄) 村庄靠近一条河。 上映，上演（一册L:85 Paris in the Spring 巴黎之春） eg. What’s on (be on) 上映什么片子？ Paris in the Spring. 巴黎之春。 在…时候 eg. on the 1st of October(= on Oct. 1st) 在10月1日 on New Year’s Day 在元旦 on Saturday 在星期六 关于 eg. a lesson on history 历史课 实义动词 + on 连续不断 （这时的on是一个副词,表示连续不断地持续一个动作） eg. go on 继续前进 My heart will go on. 我心永恒（爱无止境）。 （电影《泰坦尼克号》的主题曲。） What’s going on 出什么事了？ = What’s up (新概念英语第三册L:2 Thirteen equals one) e on (催促)快点来；加油，拜托，得了 （L:13介绍come时展开的内容） Come on, let’s go swimming. 来吧，我们去游泳。 Come on, stop day-dreaming. 得了，拜托，别再做白日梦了。 Come on. I’m not 18 years old. 拜托，我不是18岁了。 Come on, you’ll be fine. 加油，你会没事的。 eg. talk on 接着说，继续说 walk on 继续走 work on 继续工作 march on (继续)向前进（L:81 Escape 逃脱） （march v.n.行军，行进; March n.三月） hold on 别挂电话，等一下，继续，坚持 on and on 继续不停地 I know how you feel, there’s no need to say on and on about it. 我知道你的感受，可是也没必要没完没了地说。 关于on的固定词组： get on 上车 turn on 打开 put on 穿上 on foot 步行（L:57 An unusual day） on sale 打折 on the left/right 在左边/右边 （L:25 Mrs. Smith’s kitchen） on time 准时 on one hand … on the other hand 一方面…另一方面 ★shelf [ elf] n. 架子，搁板 (复数：shelves) eg. bookshelf 书架（开放的） bookcase 书柜（封闭的） shoes shelf 鞋架 on the shelf 在书架上 shelf life 货架期，保质期 （life n.生活，生计，生命） （能放在货架上的商品自然在保质期当中） This chocolate has a shelf life of 18 months. 这巧克力的保存期限为十八个月。 [课文] MAN: Give me some glasses please, Jane. 请拿给我几只玻璃杯，简。 (在Give me some glasses中，动词give后面有两个宾语，即直接宾语some glasses和间接宾语me。人称代词作宾语时要用人称代词的宾格。some用于肯定句中修饰可数名词复数或不可数名词。) WOMAN: Which glasses 哪几只？ These glasses (this → these that → those) 是这几只吗？ MAN: No, not those. 不，不是那几只。 The ones on the shelf. (one单数代词 → ones复数代词) = I want the ones on the shelf. 是架子上的那几只。 (句中的ones代表glasses，on the shelf是介词短语，作定语，修饰ones。) WOMAN: These = Do you want these 这几只？ MAN: Yes, please. （假如你不同意要，则应说：No, thanks.） 是的，请拿给我。 WOMAN: Here you are. = Here they are. 给你。 MAN: Thanks. 谢谢。 语 法 some 和 any 一些 some和any既可修饰可数名词复数，又可修饰不可数名词，some常用在肯定句中，而any则常用在否定和疑问句中。 eg.
