Guide students to understand the value of sports event and sportsmanship after listening activities. 2. Encourage students to voice their critical opinions on sportsmanship. 教学难点: 1. Guide students to talk with partner, and make conversations to have a better understanding of sportsmanship. 2. Encourage students to work in groups, and voice their critical opinions in debate, then give a presentation in front of others. 教学过程 Activity 1: Warm up--talk about sportsmanship Watch a video about the Asian Games and then think about the following questions: Q1: What sports competition do you expect to watch Why Q2: How do you understand sportsmanship Activity 2: Listen for the main idea Three students are also talking about sportsmanship. Listen to the first part of the conversation and find out what happened. Two girls were on the _____. However, _____, and then _____. Activity 3: Listen and match opinions Listen and match the opinions with the right speaker. And then guide students to think about the question: Q: Who do you agree with Why Activity 4: Listen and circle the expressions Listen again and circle the expressions that you hear in the conversation, than think about the question: Q: Can you list any other expressions that are also necessary Activity 5: Work in groups and make conversations Let’s choose one of the situations below and make a conversation. A soccer player should not pretend to fall down even if it helps his/her team. In school teams, everyone should get a chance to play, not only the best players. It is wrong to pay people millions of yuan to play sports. Athletes should play only for their own country. Activity 6: Prepare for a mini-debate Here are still three situations left. Now please work in groups and choose any one of them, then speak out your ideas in a mini debate. Activity 7: Summarize on sportsmanship Based on what we had learned in this class, Let’s make a summary on sportsmanship. And do you still remember the Asian Games mentioned at the beginning of this class Do you wanna do something to send our wishes for this big event Maybe we can make a poem for it. Assignment: 1.Write a short passage about sportsmanship based on your own understanding; 2.
