Unit 2 My Schoolbag Part A Let’s learn Teaching Aims: Ss will be able to l isten, say, read and write the words, “schoolbag” “English book”, “Chinese book”, “maths book” and “storybook”. Ss will be able to use the sentence structures “What’s in your schoolbag ” “An English book, a Chinese book, a maths book and three storybooks”. Ss will be able to have a proper understanding of the use of singular and plural forms of the nouns. Ss will be interested in making their own conversations and songs; will be happy to learn English. Teaching Key and Difficult Points: 1) Ss are supposed to master the key words and the key sentences. 2) Ss will be willin g to make their own conversations and present it. 3) How to use the plural forms of nouns correctly. Teaching Procedure: Step 1 Warm-up 1) Sing a song -- My Schoolbag. My Schoolbag Oh no, my bag is heavy! Oh no, my bag is heavy! Oh no, my bag is heavy! What do you have in your schoolbag I have my English book. I have my English book. I have my English book. What do you have in your schoolbag ...... 2) Revision Show some words of school things, for example, pen; pencil; pencil box; book; eraser; crayon and ruler etc. Ask students if they can read these words and review the words. Step 2 Presentation 1) Game Play a guess ing game with students. T puts something in her hands, Ss guess what it is. T: What’s in my hand Guess! S1: A pencil T: No! S2: A ruler T: ...... 2) New words Take out a schoolbag, and learn the first new word schoolbag . Then ask Ss t o guess what is in it and use the books to learn the new words (English book, Chinese book, maths book, storybook). T: What’s in the schoolbag Guess! Ss: A pencil box T: Yes. (T takes out the pencil box) And what else Ss: Books T: Yes. An English book , a Chinese book, a maths book and three storybooks.(T takes out the books one by one.) Step 3 Let’s learn 1) Listen and read. Watch t he flash of this part, listen carefully and try to read the conversations. Zoom: What’s in your schoolbag Girl: An English book , a Chinese book, a maths book and three storybooks. 2) Practice and act. Ss wo rk in pairs and make their own conversations. Give them three min utes to practice and then have several pairs act it out in class. Step 4 Let’s do Present the fl ash, ask several students to translate each sentence. Then follow the flash and do the actions. Put your Chinese book in your desk. Put your pencil box on your English book. Put your maths book under your schoolbag. Put your eraser near your pencil box.
