Have students answer the two questions on page 30 before reading the article. 1)I use the Internet to search for information that helps me with my homework. I use it to read about the latest news on topics I am interested in. I use communication software to keep in touch with my friends. I use different apps to listen to music, take photos or play games. I enjoy shopping online, so I sometimes order food or clothes from my favourite restaurants or stores. I watch films or TV shows to relax when I have free time. 2)I depend a lot on the Internet to keep up to date with what is happening and to arrange my daily life. I stay in touch with my friends and family easily on my phone. Watching films or playing games online in my spare time is one way to entertain myself. The Internet makes my life less stressful because everything is conveniently available at the touch of a button. Without it, my life would be very different. 2. Have students skim the article and summarize its main idea in one sentence. The Internet has brought many life-changing advantages, but we should be aware 批 注 of its potential problems. 3. Have students finish A1 on page 32. Para. 1: We can achieve almost anything online. Advantage 1: We have quick and easy access to a huge amount of information online. Advantage 2: E-commerce has made our lives unbelievably convenient. Advantage 3: The Internet helps us establish and maintain social ties.
