Students’ Union (满分25分) The possible version: With the seeds planted, I checked the box every day, eager for any sign of life. Each morning, I would step into the yard, hoping to see a tiny shoot pushing through the soil. But days turned into weeks, and still, there was nothing. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointment. Maybe my neighbor had been right after all. Maybe these seeds were just too old to come up. But I refused to give up hope. I continued watering the box diligently, wishing the seeds would live up to expectations and grow into lively hibiscus flowers. As the days went on, I began to lose faith. Maybe it was foolish to believe that something so old could still bear fruit. Just when I was about to give up, something astonishing happened. One morning, as I went to check on the box, I noticed a tiny green shoot peeking through the soil. My heart leaped with joy as I realized that the hibiscus seeds were indeed growing. And as the days passed, the seedling grew stronger and more energetic, its leaves spreading out in the warm sunlight. Peg and I marveled at the wonder that even something this old could still grow and be pretty cool. It was a testament to the endurance of nature, a reminder that even in tough times, life finds a way to flourish. Like the little hibiscus, I would keep growing too. 听力录音原文 Text 1 M: Can you hear any better today W: Yes. I don’t know what the problem was, (1) but I blew my nose this morning and I could hear OK.
