Teaching Key Points Comprehending the details and main ideas of the listening materials. Using appropriate language and expressions to discuss festivals. IV. Teaching Difficult Points Dealing with new vocabulary and complex sentence structures in the listening. Organizing and presenting coherent oral expressions about festivals. V. Teaching Procedures A. Lead-in (5 minutes) Show some pictures of various festivals and ask students to name them. Have a brief discussion about why people celebrate these festivals. B. Pre-listening (10 minutes) Review the key vocabulary related to festivals from the textbook, such as "celebration", "tradition", "custom", "decorate", etc. Have students predict what they might hear in the upcoming listening based on the pictures and their prior knowledge. C. While-listening (20 minutes) Play the first listening passage. Students listen for the main idea and answer some simple questions, e.g., "What is the main festival mentioned " Play the listening again. This time, students take notes on specific details, such as activities, food, and decorations. Use the questions in the textbook to check students' understanding. D.
