(2)Soft and quiet music makes me relaxed. (3)Money and fame don’t always make people happy. (4)She said that the sad movie made her feel like crying. 3. 掌握本单元语法: make作使役动词的用法 教学重点 1. 掌握本部分出现的生词和词组,达到熟练运用的目标。 2. 能够用英语描述自己的情感。 3. 掌握make作使役动词的用法。 教学难点 make作使役动词的用法。 教学准备 图片、音频和课件。 教学过程 教学过程 Step 1: Leading in 1. Ask students to think about a question: What can make you happy 2. Students talk about this question in groups and one member can make a summary about their ideas and share in class. 3. Make a summary about this question by showing pictures and key words. Step 2: Preparation 1. Show students a picture of a king and ask them to answer the questions. (1)Who is the man (2)Do you think he is happy 2. Use more detailed questions like “What kind of man is he ” to lead students to describe the king with more words. Step 3: Reading 1. Ask students to skim the passage and divide the passage into four parts according to the related meaning. 2. Ask students to summarize the ideas of the four parts. (Attention: teach students some reading skills, e.g. use the key words or key sentences to make a summary. If students can’t summarize correctly, lead them to find out the key sentences. A mind map can also be used to show the main ideas of each part on the board.) 3. Ask students to scan Para. 1 & 2 and answer the following questions. (1)When did the story happen (2)Where did the story happen (3)What was wrong with the king (4)What did the doctor say 4. Ask students to scan Para. 3—5 and fill in the table. The prime ministerThe king’s bankerThe palace singerWhat do they have Are they happy Why are they unhappy What are they worried about 5. Ask students to read the story in groups and answer the questions. (1)Can medicine help the king Why or why not (2)Why does power not make the prime minister happy (3)Why does money not make the banker happy (4)Why does fame not make the singer happy (Attention: When students are sharing the questions, explain new words, phrases and sentence patterns in the passage. If necessary, explain some sentences which are difficult to understand. Guide students some reading strategies like: find the answers paragraph by paragraph.) 6. Ask students to finish exercise 3b to check their understanding to the new phrases.
