Enjoy a song: what time is it Step 2 Presentation Pre-reading Look at the picture and answer: what time does Mary’s father get up Have a look at his day, watch the video of part D. Answer the question: is Mary’s father busy or not busy While-reading Read and number the pictures. Tips: find the phrases and find the right picture. For example: gets up at 6 o’clock--picture 9 Answer:6 - 5 - 11 - 8 - 9 - 2 - 4 - 7 - 1 - 3 - 10 Pair work: read the passage and finish the timetable of Mary’s father. Read the timetable carefully, pay attention to these parts: Let’s count: how long does Mary’s father work He works for 12 hours a day. He works too hard! After-reading What do you want to say if you were the boss / Mary’s mother or Mary Mary wants your help: make a new timetable for his father and tell him “Don’t work too hard” Group work: make a new timetable Let’s share. Step 3 Practice Listen and repeat. Read the last sentence full of motion. Read the whole passage. Step 4 Let’s know more Read the timetable and guess: what are their jobs Answer: a taxi driver / a cleaner / a nurse Different people have different timetables, please respect every worker who works hard. Step 5 Homework Do a survey and make a timetable for one of your families. Give your suggestion. Group work: put these timetables and suggestions together and make them into a book named “Timetables of different jobs”, then share it.
