To talk about the colorful school life with the ideas and supported details. 教学难点: 1. To use details chart to complete writing and master skills in writing.. 2. To express ideas with “there be” sentence pattern. 教学过程 Step 1 Review Review the school life of different people in this unit Identify the aspects students discuss about school life; Present some images from this unit to show students the specific aspects of school life. Purpose: Observe students’ grasp and understanding of the learned knowledge, and lay the groundwork for the upcoming writing topic. (感知与注意) Step 2 Learn a model Read the model passage quickly and answer this question: How is the writer’s school life Purpose: To help students find the key information through rapid reading.(感知与注意) Read the model passage again and answer these questions: How many parts can we divide the passage into What does the first sentence tell you the writer wants to do What’s the main idea of the second part What does the writer say at the end Purpose: To help students identify the paragraph structure of the article and the purpose of the writer’s introductory and concluding sentences by reading the model. (获取与梳理) Read the model passage more carefully and answer: What does the writer mention about new school life What details does the writer give to support his/her idea What sentence pattern does the writer use to show his or her idea Make a short conclusion about the subskill of writing. Students reflect on their daily school life and fill in sentences about details and supporting details in the details chart. Meanwhile, the teacher provides sentence writing examples for the students. Purpose: To observe students’ understanding of the body part of the model. To understand how the writer skillfully uses the "there be" sentence structure to express ideas and enriches these ideas with details. (获取与梳理) Step 3 Writing Using the information filled in during the previous steps, students form sentences into paragraphs and share their new school life, completing the writing task for the body part. After writing, students conduct self-assessment using a self-evaluation checklist. Students exchange their written paragraphs and conduct peer assessments using a peer evaluation checklist, while the teacher provides examples of peer evaluations.
