This listening material is a speech, which is divided into two parts,The first part briefly introduces the different languages in the world, and the second part talks about two reasons for learning foreign languages: learning foreign languages is conducive to employment and communication with family and friends. 【Why】 By listening to the factual information in the listening text and sorting out the reasons for learning a foreign language in the text, students can think deeply about the importance of foreign language learning in today's social context. 【How】 In terms of content, the central argument of this speech is “It’s wise to learn at least one other foreign language.” The speaker demonstrated from two levels: First, the development of different languages in the world. 2、 Analyze and elaborate two reasons for people to learn foreign languages: to obtain better employment opportunities in the future. 教学目标 After this class, they’re expected to: 1.get familiar with countries and their languages, especially the 6 official languages of the United Nations (the UN). 2.have a better understanding of the pronouns and what the pronouns refer to in listening. 3.talk about the languages you want to learn and tell the reasons in simple English. 教学重难点 1.
