Countable nouns [cn] Uncountable nouns [un] [cn] refers to something we can count. For example, an apple, two pears and ten lemons. [un] refers to something we cannot count. For example, we cannot say a bread. Types of nouns The singular(单数) of countable nouns If the countable noun begins with a vowel sound, we use “an”. If the countable noun begins with a consonant sound, we use “a”. Tip More examples: an hour a unit The plural(复数) of countable nouns To form the plural of most countable nouns, we add -s to the singular form.
