Present the Grammar Focus sentences on the screen and ask students to read them aloud. 2. Ask students to circle the words “because” and “why” in the sentences and observe the sentence structures. 3. Explain the usage of “why” and “because” in the reason clauses. For example: “Why do you like penguins so much ” is a question asking for the reason. “Because they're very cute!” is the answer giving the reason. 4. Present some more examples and have students practice making sentences with “why” and “because”. (三)Practice (10 minutes) 1. 3a: Have students complete the conversation in pairs. Encourage them to use the words in the box and underline the animal nouns. Then invite some pairs to act out the conversation. 2. 3c: Have students make the nouns in the box plural. Then ask them to complete the sentences using the plural nouns. Check the answers together and emphasize the plural forms of the nouns. (四)Production (15 minutes) 1. 3d: Ask students to think of an animal and have a conversation with their partners to guess the animal. Provide some sentence patterns and useful expressions for them. 2. Walk around the classroom and offer help and guidance when needed. 3. Invite some pairs to present their conversations to the class. (五)Summary and Homework (5 minutes) 1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the usage of “why” and “because” and the plural forms of animal nouns. 2.
