Learn to plan and organize a writing by brainstorming according to the writing task.2. Learn to write according to the outline and writing criteria 教学过程 Step 1: Introduction of learning aims First, Teacher introduces the learning aims. They are as follows: at the end of the class, students will be able to plan and organize for writing; they’ll be able to write according to the structure & criteria; they’ll be able to evaluate according to the criteria; They will be able to use A.R.M.S. and C.U.P.S to revise their writing.Step 2: Introduction of the writing task Then, Teacher introduces the writing task. --National Geographic is collecting the best articles about protecting an animal in danger from students. As students, what can you do to help protect them We will choose the most effective articles which can arouse most students to join in the activities to protect the animal in danger. Step 3: Introduction of writing methodNext, Teacher introduces the writing method called P.O.W.E.R. P stands for planning. O stands for organizing. W stands for writing. E stands for evaluating. R stands for revising. In the following lesson, they will focus on how to plan first.Step 4: Planning Teacher will guide Ss to focus on four parts—topic, readers, purpose and contencts.After reading the task carefully, students may understand the writing task more clearly according to the four parts. They may conclude that the topic is to protect animals in danger. The readers are the students who want to help animals. The purpose is to call on more students to protect them. They should write the animals’ situation, analyze the reasons that cause their problem and say what they students can do to protect them.Next, Teacher guides them to plan for contents. Teacher chooses the Polar Bear in Arctic as an example. Teacher guides Ss to think of two parts. One is “their situation”, the other is “what causes the problem”. They can know the polar bears are in danger and show the number of them. Second, they can list the reasons why they are in danger. They may be global warming, less sea ice, no enough food, etc. Teacher guides Ss to plan for contents.What they students can do may be: raise money, write articles to call on students, carry on activities to call on students and produce less carbon-dioxide to protect environment.Step 5: OrganizingNext, Teacher will present how to organize the writing.Teacher will choose the Polar Bear as an example.
