教学设计 课程基本信息 学科 英语 年级 八年级 学期 秋季 课题 M6U3 Animals in danger Language practice(2) 教学目标 By the end of the class, you will be able to be aware of the importance to take action to protect wild animals by learning more about animals in danger; use “to do” as object complements and adverbials of purpose; 3. make a plan to set up a wildlife club and make a poster about it. 教学内容 教学重点: 1.Be aware of the importance to take action to protect wild animals. 2.Make a poster for your wildlife club after planning for the club. 教学难点: 1. Learn more reasons why some wild animals are in danger and learn the solutions. 2. Make a good poster for the wildlife club. 教学过程 Activity 1. Review by brainstorming. I will lead the students to review what they have learned in Unit 1&2 about how to protect pandas and practice using “to do” which is the language focus of this module. Activity 2. Read the email and complete the table. The students will read the email on P48 and know better about the famous zoo in England with the table. Activity 3. Read, finish the information cards and talk about the solutions. 1. The students will read the short passage on P49 and know more about another endangered animals - the blue whale and the wild Bectrian camel. I will lead them to finish the two information cards which has a clear structure to help them know better. 2. After that, I will lead students to talk about the solutions. Activity 4. Watch a video and finish the information card. I will show students a video made by myself about sea turtles and students will finish the card. The language in the video is a little more difficult than the passages in the textbook so that students will learn more useful expressions and it can also expand students’ knowledge. Activity 5. Choose the solutions. The expressions of the solutions in the video are a little difficult for students so I design it as a choosing activity which can lower the difficulty. The new solutions can open students’ mind and cultivate their creative thinking ability. Activity 6. Learn about WCS. Activity 7. Listen and complete the poster. Activity 8. Think about what is a good poster like and polish the poster. Students are aroused to think whether the poster above is good or not and then I will lead them to think of the checklist for a good poster of a wildlife club. Next, students will be led to polish the poster. This can cultivate students’ ability of critical thinking. Activity 9. Work in a group to make a plan for your club and make a poster according to the following checklist. Homework Must-do Work in groups to plan for your wildlife club and make a poster for it.
