Do you remember them Who Can say out their names And write down their names in English on the Bb. What animals do you like best Why S: I like …best. Because…. Step 2 Presentation T: And I like birds best because most of them are very beautiful and are very friendly to us.And there are many different kinds of birds in the world. Here are some of their pictures. Can you tell me their names Picture 1 T: What is it S: It’s a sparrow. T: Can you say something about it S: … T: Teach the students the names of different parts of birds. If you want to watch birds ,you can go to Zhanglong. Let’s go birdwatching. ( Teach go birdwatching ) Ask the students to say the English names of some birds. Step 3. Practice 1.Show the pictures together and then get the students to give their names. Make sure all the students can read the names correctly. 2. Play a game : reading and guessing (guess what bird it is.) E.g. I live in wetland. I am very tall. I have long beak, long neck and long legs. I have black and white feathers. Who am I (a crane) 3.Ask the students ‘Which is your favorite bird Why Practice Part B on Page75 in pairs Step4. Production Make up new conversations using Part B as amodel and act them . Get the Ss to say out the names of the animals they learned before. And they can spell them. Say out their reasons, They can read the expressions. Step 5. Presentation 1.Say: We love birds. Eddie loves birds, too. Listen to the tape and find the answers to the following questions. 1.)What is Eddie going to do 2.)Does he really love birds 3.)What kind of birds does he like best 2.Practice reading in pairs and try to act it out Step6. Production Choose a kind of birds and describe its appearance using the new words. Fill in the blanks. Translate into English. Step 7:Sum up We talk about different kinds of birds today. Learn some important phrases and sentences Step 8: Exercises & homework 1. Copy the new words three times and recite them. 2. Look for more information about birds. 3. Write a short article about your favorite bird (characteristics and appearance) 4.Preview the new words in Reading (reading and reciting) Guess what bird it is without looking at the pictures. 教学 反思 The content of this period is to introduce some types of birds and learn how to describe the appearances of them.
