(课件网) B2U1 Food for Thought Understanding idea A Child of Two Cuisines Lead-in How many Chinese cuisines are mentioned in the video Eight Categories of Chinese Cuisines 2. Have you ever tried any of the food in the video What did you think of it Fast-reading Read the passage quickly and determine whether the following sentences are true, false or not mentioned. Mum comes from Sichuan Province, and often cooks spicy dishes. Dad has been used to eating almost all Chinese dishes. Dad is a person who is particular about food. Now I’m fond of all Chinese dishes, even stinky tofu. True False False Not mentioned be able to后接动词原形,表示某人做某事的能力,可用于大多数时态。 I will be able to speak Japanese in another few months. They were able to escape from the building when the fire broke out. 1. be able to be able to表示“能力”时,和can的用法相似。但也有区别: be able to有多种时态,如: was / were able to, will / shall be able to, have / has been able to等, 而can只有两种时态,即can和could。 She can sing the song in English. He will be able to sing this song in English in a few minutes, too. 【be able to 与can的辨析】 be able to 强调一种结果,而can只强调一种可能。如: Luckily, he was able to escape from the big fire in the end. If he got here a few hours earlier, I could save him. be able to的否定形式是在be后面直接加not,即be not able to,如: The kid is not able to write. But we may not be able to do this for every scenario. How dare you say I'm unfair Mother dare(d) not tell father she'd given away his old jacket. 如: a. I wonder how he dares (to) say such things. b. He does not dare (to) answer. You needn’t come so early. dare & need How dare you say I’m unfair You needn’t come so early. I dare to swim across this river. He does not dare (to) answer. have to have to 的含义与 must 相似,两者往往可以互换使用,但 have to 有各种时态,且强调客观需要,意为“不得不”。 I have to leave be ... ...
