I will prepare some small objects (countable nouns) and put them in a box. You can take turns to touch an object in the box and guess what it is. Activity 2: Learn about countable nouns Look at the sentence —There's a bottle of milk and two glasses of water. Which nouns are countable nouns Countable nouns refer to things that can be counted one by one and have singular and plural forms. Eg. bottle—bottles, glass—glasses Give examples and make sentences using countable nouns. Activity 3: Learn about uncountable nouns Read the sentence again and pay attention to the words “milk” and “water.” —There is a bottle of milk and two cups of water. Uncountable nouns refer to things that we cannot count. We don't use “a” or “an” before an uncountable noun. For example, we say “a bottle” but not “a milk”. Instead, we might use phrases like “two glasses of water” and “a bottle of milk”. Give examples and make sentences using uncountable nouns. Activity 4: Learn about alternative questions Alternative question offers two or more possible answers for the other person to choose from. It is usually connected by the conjunction "or". In alternative questions, the options are connected by "or". When reading aloud, use a rising intonation before "or" and a falling intonation after "or." For example, “Is it an apple or a banana ” rising intonation falling intonation Activity 4: Learn about alternative questions For example: Would you like milk or coffee Which would you like best, English, Chinese or Math Are you a doctor or a nurse Are you a teacher or a student Do you like apples or oranges Activity 4: Learn about alternative questions Let's role - play a conversation between a customer and a shopkeeper.
