Analysis of the whole unit, Analysis of the lesson and teaching procedure. First and foremost, let's talk about the theoretical basis. In order to design my teaching plan. Well, I read the following teaching principles. According to the English curriculum standard published in 2022 and the core competences of English. My teaching tried on students life-long development and educational creation. That means, during the lesson, the students can understand the knowledge, apply the language and finally have a creation. Secondly, the analysis of the whole unit will be discussed into teaching method, students, teaching aims and learning assessment. The topic of this unit is about how to spend a reasonable weekend. Students will mainly learn about the thematic context of life and learning under the theme of Human and himself. So students should be able to talk about and ask others’ weekend activities in the past tense. From where the students stand, what they have obtained before will do them a favor. So there is the vertical relation of the unit. They have learned to describe some activities in the 5th grade in general present tense. And it is the first time for them to know the past tense in this unit. Furthermore, they will learn more about the past tense in the following units. And this is the horizontal relation of the unit. I divide the unit into 4 periods. Students can try to make a reasonable weekend step by step. As for the students. In 6th grade, they are independent and be capable of group learning. Thus, I designed many group works in my lesson. They master certain abilities such as observation, discrimination, induction, inference and innovation. And they have learned 3 English tenses in the past learning. Concerning the teaching aims. Period 1 provides the topic and thematic context for the students. Therefore, they can talk about some weekend activities in the past tense and master the regular past tense of verbs. Period 2 stressed the key sentence patterns and thematic context and students can learn some irregular changes. Period 3 is about unhappy experience of last weekend, and in the period 4, the picture book the weekend bear was supplemented to guide students to make a reasonable weekend. Lastly, because assessment plays an important role in teaching and learning. So I will ask my students to comment each other. What's more, another good way to evaluate students learning is the homework. So they can do self-assessment and gradually understand, apply and create.
