Then have students pay attention to the stress on different syllables. Have students work in groups and summarize the features of the stressed syllables. Step 3 Practice Have students read the following words. Write a B if we stress the beginning syllable. Write an M if we stress the middle syllable. Write an L if we stress the last syllable.
