Have students read the following words and write down the number of syllables in each word. Then have students pay attention to the stress on different syllables. Have students work in groups and summarize the features of the stressed syllables. Step 3 Practice Have students read the following words. Write a B if we stress the beginning syllable. Write an M if we stress the middle syllable. Write an L if we stress the last syllable.
