There are two shining earrings and a little unusual shadow (阴影) of red on the girl’s face. Look strange It’s actually a picture made by a Dutch designer Julian Van Dieken who used artificial intelligence (AI). Among 3,482 pictures which were created based on Johannes Vermeer’s work, this AI-generated (生成) work was chosen to show, in the Mauritshuis museum in the Netherlands. “One of the most famous paintings in history is being replaced by one of my AI pictures,” Van Dicken wrote on Instagram. That’s the beauty and the problem of how our minds work, as clearly explained by Daniel Kahneman in his bestselling book Thinking, Fast and Slow, published in 2011. It’s an interesting exploration (探索) into the way we make decisions. Daniel Kahneman, a well-known psychologist (心理学家) and Nobel Prize winner, uses simple examples to show two ways our brains think. When you see a snake, you might jump back without thinking. This is System l—a fast, automatic (自动的) way of thinking. It works quickly and without much effort. ... ...
