It’s a mix of dance, opera and kung fu. But these days, many young students don’t know much about it. In a middle school in Chaoshan, two students, 14-year-old Mei and 15-year-old Kai, wanted to change this. Mei said, “Yingge Dance is so cool, but most of our classmates haven’t really seen it. We want to introduce the traditional dance to more people”. So they started the “Ying Lovers Club”. They also made a simple website. On the website, there are pictures and short videos of YinggeDance shows. Club members can talk to each other there. They share how they feel about the dance and ideas to make it more popular. The club also has a “Yingge Badge (徽章)” system. Students can get these badges by joining club activities, like making Yingge posters, telling stories about Yingge Dance or practicing Yingge Dance with other members. Even though Mei and Kai are busy with their schoolwork, they still spend about 15 hours a month on the club. They hope more students will love Yingge Dance through their efforts and help keep this great Chinese culture alive. 1.How many art forms are mixed in Yingge Dance 2.Why did Mei and Kai start the “Ying Lovers Club” 3.What can people find on the website 4.How can students get these Yingge badges 5.List one way for teenagers to learn about Yingge Dance. His training video, which showed his teacher Liang Xiaolong, became popular online immediately. Liang, a modest kung fu coach at the Henan Provincial Shaolin Wushu Center, won high praise from viewers for his kindness and skills. Liang, born into a martial arts family in 1987, started learning kung fu at the age of 11. He teaches both foreigners and locals at the center, which develops Shaolin culture and tourism. During the lesson, IShowSpeed learned basic moves like the “five-step fist” and tried Sanda skills, a mix of traditional kung fu and modern fighting. Liang later mentioned that Speed impressed him deeply with his bravery and quick learning, mastering most of the routine after just two tries. One unforgettable moment came when IShowSpeed volunteered to try Hard Qigong, a skill where a person is hit with a stick. Though IShowSpeed clearly felt pain, Liang encouraged him by explaining that pain was part of kung fu training and life itself. Many viewers found these words inspiring. Liang shared his belief that kung fu helps people connect even without shared languages. He described kungfu as a bridge connecting martial arts lovers across cultures (跨文化). ... ...
