Air pollution often leads to health problems in humans such as respiratory(呼吸的) diseases and heart diseases. Besides, polluted air causes acid rain(酸雨) which is harmful in the soil. Water pollution is a main cause of death in most developing countries. Noise pollution often leads to hearing loss, stress, sleeping problems, and even high blood pressure. Environmental pollution caused by chemicals can lead to developmental problems in children. Pollution often makes the ecosystem(生态系统) lose balance and some animals or plants are in danger of dying out. Most countries have taken action to control and reduce pollution and its harmful effects. Some of the steps taken to control pollution are recycling reusable materials, treating waste before putting it into the environment, making compost from waste materials, and reducing waste products from industrial activities. Technology is also used in controlling pollution in most developed nations.
