The boats, which visit out of the way villages along the Mekong River, carry more than 1,000 books. When the boat arrives, the children rush to the floating library. They choose their books and read well into the night, returning their books in the morning. The boat then moves on to its next stop. Horse Powered Literacy In remote parts of Ethiopia, a teacher and a horse, carrying books, pencils and exercise books, travel from village to village.
