Teaching Procedures Step 1 Leading-in 1.Display Aristotle's famous saying "Good habits formed at youth make all the difference."and lead to the topic of clubs in teenage life of this lesson. 2. Show some pictures and a video of school clubs. Students name the clubs and discuss about the clubs and reasons to join a club. 3. Work on Activity 1. Look at the pictures and read the names of the clubs given. Match the photos with the names of the clubs. 4. Students discuss the question: What are the differences between schools in China and those in foreign countries Step 2 Pre-listening show some phrases about expressing likes: Like/love/enjoy Prefer Be fond of Be crazy about… Be interested in… Be enthusiastic about… New words learning: frequency,date, schoolwork,natural Step 3 While-listening 1. Work on Activity 2. Read the questions and the choices, and predict what will be heard. 2. Listen to the conversations. Choose the correct answers and check the answers. 3. Listen to the conversation 1 again according to the listening script . 4. Listen to the conversation 2 again according to the listening script . 5.New words learning of conversation 3 : movement,biology,greenhouse,cartoon,outdoors,direction, get/havetwo left feet 6. Work on Activity 3. Look at the information given and predict the content of the listening material. Guess the meaning of “movements” and “greenhouse” according to the names of the clubs. 5. Listen to Conversation 3 twice and finish exercise 1-3. Then teacher checks answers. 6. Listen again according to the listening script and fill in the blanks. Step 4 Post-listening Work in pairs and talk about what else we should consider when choosing a club. Read the example and answer the questions.
