Unit 3 My school Section A 2a - 2f (Period 2) 教学设计 Lesson Type Listening and Reading Core Literacy Goals - Language Ability: Introduce and talk about the classroom using "there is / are...". - Cultural Awareness: Feel the good atmosphere in the classroom and develop a stronger love for school. - Thinking Quality: Improve logical thinking by comparing local classrooms with those in other countries. - Learning Ability: Use mind maps to classify and organize information related to classrooms. Teaching Key and Difficult Points 1. Introduce and talk about the classroom using the structure "there is / are...". 2. Improve logical thinking by comparing local classrooms with those abroad. Teaching Methods Task-based teaching method, situational teaching method Teaching Procedures Warming-up 1. Introduce Peter and Mrs. Brown to the class, and lead a greeting conversation with students around these two characters. Purpose: To smoothly lead into the topic of "classroom" without making students feel abrupt. Pre-listening (2a) 1. Show the picture in 2a to students, ask them to observe it carefully, and then share what they can see in the picture. Purpose: To help students get initial information about the classroom from the picture, laying a foundation for the following listening activity. While-listening (2a) 1. Ask students to listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks in the worksheet. 2. Let students listen to the conversation again and read aloud after the tape to mimic the pronunciation and intonation. Purpose: To enhance students' listening comprehension ability through targeted listening tasks, and help them familiarize themselves with the target language "there is / are..." in context. Post-listening & Reading (2b - 2e) 1. Have students read the conversation in 2b independently, and then match the given questions with the correct answers. 2. Ask students to read the conversation again, circle "T" (True) or "F" (False) for each statement, and correct the false ones with the information from the text. 3. Organize students to work in pairs to role-play the conversation, encouraging them to act out the characters' tones. 4. Introduce the concept of "lockers" to students, and guide them to compare lockers with desk drawers they usually use. 5. Guide students to compare Peter's classroom (from the text) with their own classroom, and list the key items in both classrooms as required in 2e. 6. Ask students to work in pairs to share their comparisons between Peter's classroom and theirs. Purpose: To develop students' reading skills (such as skimming and scanning) and speaking skills through diverse interactive tasks, and deepen their understanding of the target language in practical use. Summary 1. Review the way to introduce a classroom using the structure "there is / are..." with students, and invite 2-3 students to try introducing their own classroom briefly. Homework 1.
