Lead-in Ask students to look at the pictures on Page 21 and answer:- What are they - What do you know about them This step aims to activate students’ prior knowledge of artworks, arouse their curiosity about the lesson topic, and create a smooth transition to the upcoming listening and speaking activities. 2. Viewing & Pre-listening 1. Match activities (a-f) with the pictures on Page 21, then check answers together.2. Read the names of different art forms aloud as a class.3. Show short videos or play audio clips about famous artworks; invite students to name the corresponding art forms.4. Read the descriptions in Activity 1B, then select the correct works from Activity 1A.5. Guide students to answer:- How did you find the answers - What else do you know about these works 6. Read the descriptions aloud as a class again. This step provides multi-sensory input (visual and auditory) to help students familiarize themselves with art forms and classic works. Matching and reading tasks build a solid foundation for listening comprehension and expand students’ art-related vocabulary. 3. Listening & Speaking 1. Listen to the conversation in Activity 1C, then repeat it sentence by sentence.2. Pair work: Practice the conversation in Activity 1C with a partner.3. Pair work: Replace the bolded parts in the conversation with their own ideas and practice again. Listening and repeating help students master correct pronunciation and intonation. Pair work offers practical speaking opportunities—allowing students to apply the new vocabulary and sentence structures, and gradually improve their oral communication skills.
