Understand the main plot of the story and the safety lesson in it. 三、Teaching Difficult Points 1.Use the new words and sentences to retell the story fluently. 2.Apply the safety knowledge in real - life situations. 四、Teaching Aids PPT with pictures of the story scenes. 五、Teaching Procedures Step 1: Warm - up - Greet the students. - Ask some questions: Have you ever climbed on a chair to get something Was it safe - Let students discuss in pairs and then share their answers. Step 2: Presentation 1. First Reading - Play the audio of the story. Ask students to listen and find out what Danny wanted to do. (Answer: Danny wanted to hang a yellow star from the ceiling over the desk.) 2. Second Reading - Ask students to read the story by themselves. Then, ask some questions: What were Danny,Jenny and Brian doing What did Danny climb onto Did Danny need an ambulance Who is Jenny going to call 3. Third Reading - Divide students into groups. I don't believe he will come. [注意] 若谓语动词为 hope , 宾语从句中的否定词不能转移。 eg : I hope you weren't ill. 我希望你没有生病。 Step 4: Post - reading 1.
