
单 元 教 学 计 划 第 2 单元:UNIT 2 LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE 教 材 地 位 及 作 用 The theme of this unit is about groundbreaking technological advancements that are just coming into being or that will affect our lives in the near future. Students will examine topics as diverse as smart homes, nanobots, artificial intelligence, cloning, and miniature robots.Future problems will also be explored, both in terms of problems caused by technology and technological solutions. This knowledge is then activated by having students talk and write about the challenges we will face because of technological advancements. Students will then reflect on what they have learnt by writing a letter to themselves from the future. It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit both to consider the effects of future technology and decide what part new technology should play in their lives. 教学目标 1. Enable students to master the usage of such important words and expressions. 2. Enable students to master the basic grammar rules about the use of the simple future and the future progressive tense. 3. Guide students to describe what future smart home will be like and discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of smart technology. 4. Let students predict the future changes in society and our lives.They can predict their future jobs and explain the reasons or possible effects. 5. Instruct students to write an essay to express their opinions about the possible advantages and disadvantages of advanced technology. 教学重点 Enable students to learn how to use the words and phrases in real situations. Enable students to master how to use grammar rules about the future progressive tense properly. Enable students to use the functional items of showing one’s fear, panic and embarrassment.
