Linguistic competence: Use key holiday-related vocabulary to form meaningful phrases and complete short texts; grasp the basic structure of diary writing (date, weather, activities, feelings, reflections). 2. Cultural awareness: Explore different ways people around the world spend holidays and recognize the common value of rest and family bonding during holidays. 3. Thinking quality: Analyze the structure of a holiday passage logically, identify main ideas and supporting details, and summarize diverse holiday practices systematically. 4. Learning ability: Independently build vocabulary networks through word association and collaborate in small groups to share personal holiday experiences. Teaching Key points: Use key holiday-related vocabulary to form meaningful phrases and complete short texts; grasp the basic structure of diary writing (date, weather, activities, feelings, reflections). Teaching Intention Word association is a student-centered way to expand vocabulary. By starting with individual thinking (to avoid peer pressure) and moving to group sharing, all students get involved. The class mind map also creates a shared lexical resource—students can refer to it in later tasks, helping them build a strong vocabulary network around the "holiday" theme. 2b: Vocabulary Application Task 1.
