Learning Ability: - To master the skill of applying what has been learned by practicing in different contexts. II. Teaching Important and Difficult Points 1. To proficiently talk about ownership by using the possessive -'s. 2. To skillfully put what has been learned into use by practicing in various contexts. III. Teaching Procedure Step 1 Warming - up - Teacher's Activity: Show a blank family tree on the blackboard or PPT. - Students' Activity: Students actively participate in completing the family tree. When called, they go to the front and write down the names of their family members. Other students watch carefully and answer the teacher's questions about the family tree. - Design Intent: Completing the family tree is an interactive and visual activity. It helps students recall family - related vocabulary and knowledge in a practical way. By building the tree together and answering questions, students get engaged in the class from the start, creating a lively and connected start for the following family - themed learning. Step 2 Pre - listening 1. Teacher's Activity: Show the picture in 2a on the screen. First, ask students to look at the picture carefully for about 1 minute. Then, present the four questions one by one: ①“Who are they ” ②“Where are they ” ③“What can you see in the picture ” ④“What are they talking about ” Walk around the classroom to see students' responses and give some hints if needed, like “Look at their faces, are they happy or serious ” for question ④. 2. Students' Activity: Students look at the picture attentively. They discuss the questions with their deskmates first if possible, then share their predictions with the class when called. 3. Design Intent: Predicting answers before listening is a strategic activity. It activates students' thinking by making them use their observation and reasoning skills. By focusing on the key questions, students are guided to pay attention to the important information in the listening material, thus preparing them well for the upcoming listening activity. Step 3 While - listening 1. First Listening: - Teacher's Activity: Play the conversation recording for the first time. - Students' Activity: Students listen to the recording with concentration and circle the words they recognize.
