Lucy/She a book. was reading was playing was playing was reading Why don’t we use “is doing” Because we talk about things that happen in the past (在过去) not now. Work out the rule! We use the past continuous tense to talk about things that were happening at a particular time in the past. We form the past continuous tense like this:_____ + v-ing. was/were Read the conversation below and pay attention to the use of the past continuous tense. Suzy: There was an accident near our school at 4:10 yesterday afternoon. It happened as we were going home from school. Amy: I know. I saw it while I was riding my bike home. He was visiting Beijing that week. 用法：过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻正在进行的动作或过去某一阶段一直在进行的动作。 构成：过去进行时句子中的谓语部分由“was/were+ 现在分词” 构成，与现在进行时结构相似，只是把现在进行时中的am/is/are 变成了was/were。 Summary She was playing computer games at this time last night. Read and summarise 过去进行时的句式结构 肯定句 主语+was/were+ 现在分词（+ 其他）. e.g. I was doing my homework at eight last night. 昨晚八点我在做我的作业。 否定句 主语+was/were+not/wasn’t/weren’t + 现在分词（+ 其他）. e.g. I wasn’t helping my father in the garden at this time yesterday. 昨天这个时间,我没有在花园里帮爸爸干活。 Summary 一般 疑问句 —Was/Were+ 主语+ 现在分词（+ 其他）？ —Yes, 主格代词+was/ were./ No, 主格代词+wasn’t/weren’t. e.g.—Were you doing housework at that time 那时你在做家务吗？ —Yes, I was./No, I wasn’t. 是的，我在做。/ 不，我没在做。 特殊 疑问句 特殊疑问词(不作主语)+ was/were + 主语+ 现在分词(+ 其他) / 特殊疑问词(作主语)+was/ were+ 现在分词(+其他)？ e.g. What were you reading this morning 今天上午你在读什么？ Who was playing basketball here last night 昨天晚上谁在这里打篮球？ 时间状语： 过去进行时表示过去某一时刻正在进行的动作以及过去某一阶段 一直在进行的动作,常与表示过去的具体时间等连用如:this morning, the whole morning, all day, from nine to ten, last evening, at that time, at this time yesterday, at 9 last night, at that moment。或者在when, while, as引导的时间状语从句中使用。 过去进行时和一般过去时的区别: 1.过去进行时 ... ...
