Today, I will introduce some of China’s major landforms. China’s landforms can be divided into three levels from west to east, like a giant staircase. The First Level: The western part of China is the highest, with the huge Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the “Roof of the World”. Among the thousands of mountains in the Himalayas stands the highest mountain in the world, Mount Qomolangma. The Second Level: Moving east, the land becomes lower. This middle level includes large plateaus like the Loess Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, as well as big basins like the Sichuan Basin.
